On one hand, doing your own scanning means you have total control of the image. On the other hand, at least in my case, that’s not always a good thing. I seriously upgraded my 35MM scanning ability by getting a dedicated Plustek, but I’m still scanning 120mm with the Epson V600 and it’s more obvious to me than ever. Add to that that I had trouble wrapping the roll which led to some bad light leaks. Still, despite some struggles here, I think I was able to capture the feeling I had in Iceland, a place with so much natural beauty it’s difficult to take a bad photo. My favorite one here is probably the worst one for the viewer, the second one with the smoke - I still remember how surreal it felt when that cloud of steam from a geyser wrapped itself around that person and made them disappear.
